I just wanted to throw out a question here. Does anyone else think that Anet will begin spreading it's players too thin? There are certain areas that are already hard to get a PUG, if they add a new Chaper every 6 mo, soon it will be impossible! It's nice to have new chapters & such, but I don't think they are pulling in so many players that they make up for the spread.
Is it me or does Anet need a new buisness model soon? I mean, maybe paying to open different types of armor or weapons or something, but if they keep adding new Missions, they players will all diffuse over the maps. Not only that, but ppl will be locked into whatever chapers they have making some of the spread totally unable to connect. I dunno. I like new content & such, but the peeople need to be able to cplay together!

Spreading em too thin is definitely a major concern. Unless they do change their business model I don't see a way of avoiding it. Anet will just have to work super extra hard to make sure more and more ppl start loving (and keep loving) the games and fill up the districts. I haven't seen finding enough pp for a group, for missions at least, too hard to do when I've taken my chars back to prophecies, but of course I'm on the American servers where there are always a bajillion kiddos online.
When I switched my second account onto Europe for a little while, and this was even before factions came out, it was ridiculously hard to get a group for the lesser played missions. And when I did find a group I usually couldn't understand a thing they were saying I can't imagine how hard it must be for European players now.

My predictions on new skills:
Cafemonger - Obsessionation - 5/1/60 - Enchantment. For each hour you have been online (maximum 24), you gain +2% chance for the next 50..250 loot drops to be assigned to you.
And...the new skill for Dervishes to temporarily change into a god!

Build Ideas:
R/P and R/D: Expertise + Spear/Javalin throwing/Scythe slashing
P/W: The frontline commander with Tactic, "Charge!", "Retreat!"
N/D: The "Unholy" warrior. Reaping Souls with my scythe.
Mo/P: I'll smite you with my Spear of Light and my spear of steel.
D/A: I'm thinking something like the Archdevil in HoMM V
As for weapons:
I think...
- scythe going to be two-handed.
- Maybe slightly more range than hammer
- slightly less damage than hammer (15~32)
- Lots of skill that causes bleeding and deep wound.
Spear..
- two-handed
- Skill that allows it for armor penetration
- Same max damage as bow, higher min damage. (20~28)
- Normally a melee weapon, with skills that allows you to throw them
(I'm keep thinking it's going to be something like Javazon in Diablo 2)

"LIEK ZOMG A SYTHE"
It's going to be hard to get into a group as a dervish, nonetheless it seems like a very cool class.
(until the simple-minded try to tank with them and blame the monk for their own foolish deaths)

Just wondering, is there any sign of A-net using some Class suggestion idea's from this forum? Since alot of people put alot of work in those it would be hella cool.

The dervish class was proposed
and check out this concept that i had on a commander unit that uses shouts and stuff, similar to the paragon. is it just coincidence?

I remember seeing that concept class you posted there. Watch and see if they steal some of your ideas on skills there :P They should give you a big ol' in game trophy if they did. You just type /trophy and a godly statue falls from the sky in any city/outpost

I reckon the Dervish's scythe will automaically strike foes adjacent to your target for half the damage from your normal attack.

"GLFM for Mission - NO DERVISHES"
I see the Assassin issue all over again with this class due to all the oh-so-morbid preteens having wet dreams over the thought of using a scythe as a weapon. I really wish the Dervish class used something else, oh well. I actually like the discription of the other class better, they just look horrible....
blah.

As an older player, I'm concerned...
I've been playing Propheicies campaign since mid-December.
I bought factions about a month after it was released.
I don't get all that much time to play (about 10 hours a week) due to my other responsibilities (job/wife/kids/etc.)
I have so many more fond memories of Prophecies than I ever will have of Factions. Factions seems to have been rushed, the character classes of Rit and 'Sin not truly fully developed (can you say no hand-to-hand combat with the 'Sin?). No replayable high-end farming areas such as ToPK or SF. I don't accept elite missions as those; they take quite a while to do successfully and require a ferry to get to. Also, when Factions came out, it was extremely buggy...
I understand that the Nightfall team has been in the works for close to a year (vs. 6 months for factions), but I'm concerned that Nightfall is going to be another short, underdeveloped game. As others have noticed, the character models are stolen from other professions (ain't broke, don't fix it), but they've had a year to at least try. They seem to have taken the dervish class from other games (let's try be original here). The Paragon class seems to be a combination of Warrior (shouts), Ranger (ranged/spear), and Rit or Monk (support). I understand that coming up with new classes, skills and overall ideas for characters isn't easy... so I say TAKE YOUR TIME ANET!!!
I was hoping to have the time to be able to take my Canthan characters completely through Tyria and vice-versa, but it looks as if I'm going to be very short of that goal (2 Canthan characters haven't even been to LA). I'm feeling like I'm rusing through Cantha because of the impending release of Nightfall. I still just think 6 months is just too soon...
All that said... I will buy nightfall, and I will play it. But, if Nightfall is just as underdeveloped as Factions, I'm going to be extremely disappointed.
I expect to get flamed for my opinion... but that's just what it is... mine

Possible storyline for Nightfall?
So all is quiet now that Shiro is dead and out Hero's have returned to rest on the outskirts of Lions Arch, in the safety of the Ascalon settlement.
THEN.....
Gwen shows up all grown up now (after many years, maybe 4) seeking the hero's of her youth. Much has changed in Elona as Evil in the form of the Fury, Darkness and others has come to the real world (Tyria Elona etc..) In search of something, or to conquer. Meanwhile the Sheppard’s of the Mists (INTRO'd in Factions) have also grown worried about the balance of the real world and the Mists spinning out of control. After all the Grasps not only kill in the physical they kill the spirits in the Mists as well. (GOTO ToPK for further details)
It is now up to the HERO's to stop the Darkness from spreading further into the real world and causing the world to spin completely out of control.
The HERO's realize they can't win of course and must Acend (again for the 3rd time) to understand what the Darkness is, seeing it, petition, whatever. Only by Ascending once again for the 3rd time, they can enter the world of the Mists in such a way they can take the battle to the Grasps.
question after I acend again and again am I acended yet or just think I am...

Nah, it's not so odd. There's a Magic card called Whirling Dervish, that gets +1/+1 for every creature it damages.
Sigh...I used to play way too much Magic >.<
Oh oh, and it has protection from black!

I figure by Chapter 4 we'll all just be Super Saiyajins. Once you ascend 4 times you get the ability to go into beserk mode where you crush your foe with a flurry of long, drawn out super dialogue.

I have only one prayer for Nightfall. God, Allah, Vishnu, Buddha, Flying Spaghetti Monster, listen up:
Locational unlocking will be earned as in Factions; once unlocked, an area is accessible to all other characters without completing storyline missions.
TheMosesPHD, you're really working on that there post count, eh?
